O ciclo Zona Franca inaugura a sua programação de 2026 com uma nova criação que reúne a coreógrafa Vânia Doutel Vaz (@charmedamargemsul) e o baterista Gabriel Ferrandini (@gabrielferrandini).
A criação resultante desta residência, que vai decorrer no Centro de Criação de Candoso, será apresentada pela primeira vez no Centro Cultural Vila Flor, em Guimarães, no sábado, dia 18 de abril, às 21h30, seguindo depois para o gnration, em Braga, onde sobe ao palco a 30 de maio, às 21h30, na blackbox.
Intérprete e criadora com percurso internacional, Vânia Doutel Vaz tem trabalhado de forma continuada com o coreógrafo norte-americano Trajal Harrell e colaborado com nomes como Ligia Lewis, Tânia Carvalho ou Zia Soares. Ferrandini é uma das figuras mais reconhecidas do jazz e da improvisação nacional. Baterista, move-se entre a composição contemporânea e a experimentação sonora, tendo-se já cruzado com artistas como Evan Parker, Alexander von Schlippenbach ou Thurston Moore.
O programa Zona Franca resulta de uma parceria entre o Centro Cultural Vila Flor, em Guimarães, e o gnration e Theatro Circo, em Braga. Tem vindo a afirmar-se como um espaço de encontro e experimentação entre diferentes linguagens artísticas, promovendo colaborações inéditas entre criadores da dança e da música.

The Zona Franca cycle opens its 2026 programme with a new creation bringing together choreographer Vânia Doutel Vaz (@charmedamargemsul) and drummer Gabriel Ferrandini (@gabrielferrandini).
The piece resulting from this residency, which will take place at Centro de Criação de Candoso, will be presented for the first time at Centro Cultural Vila Flor, in Guimarães, on Saturday, April 18, at 9:30 pm, and will then move to gnration, in Braga, where it will be performed on May 30, at 9:30 pm, in the blackbox.
A performer and creator with an international career, Vânia Doutel Vaz has worked continuously with American choreographer Trajal Harrell and collaborated with names such as Ligia Lewis, Tânia Carvalho and Zia Soares. Ferrandini is one of the most recognized figures in national jazz and improvisation. A drummer, he moves between contemporary composition and sound experimentation, having collaborated with artists such as Evan Parker, Alexander von Schlippenbach and Thurston Moore.
The Zona Franca programme is the result of a partnership between Centro Cultural Vila Flor, in Guimarães, and gnration and Theatro Circo, in Braga. It has been establishing itself as a space for encounter and experimentation between different artistic languages, promoting new collaborations between creators from dance and music.
