Neste cineconcerto integrado no programa Crianças ao Poder, o Theatro Circo promove o encontro entre o génio surrealista de Charley Bowers e a versatilidade composicional de The Legendary Tigerman. Bowers, figura redescoberta na década de 1960, destacou-se por uma estética única na comédia americana, fundindo o live-action com sequências elaboradas de stop-motion criadas a partir de engrenagens e objetos quotidianos.
O músico Paulo Furtado, reconhecido pelo seu vasto percurso na criação de bandas sonoras, assume a interpretação ao vivo para duas curtas-metragens fundamentais: 'Uma Escorregadela' (1927) e 'Aí Está' (1928). Fugindo ao registo puramente rock, Tigerman explora aqui uma sonoridade híbrida, onde a guitarra dialoga com sintetizadores modulares e texturas orgânicas, adaptando-se ao humor bizarro e à opulência visual de Bowers.

In this film concert, part of the Crianças ao Poder programme, Theatro Circo brings together the surreal genius of Charley Bowers and the compositional versatility of The Legendary Tigerman. Bowers, rediscovered in the 1960s, stood out for a unique aesthetic in American comedy, blending live-action with elaborate stop-motion sequences created from gears and everyday objects.
Musician Paulo Furtado, widely recognised for his extensive work in film scoring, performs live for two key short films: 'Uma Escorregadela' (1927) and 'Aí Está' (1928). Moving beyond a purely rock approach, Tigerman explores a hybrid sound, where guitar interacts with modular synthesizers and organic textures, adapting to Bowers’ bizarre humour and visual richness.
This session is part of the Crianças ao Poder 2026 programme.
