Desafiada a explorar a relação entre governo e amor, Laurie Anderson criou uma performance que cruza narrativa e música. Acompanhada pelo ensemble de jazz nova iorquino Sexmob, a artista reinventa temas como 'Big Science' e 'Language Is A Virus', que ganham novos contextos em 2026. Integrando pensamentos de figuras como Allen Ginsberg e Bob Dylan, a obra afirma-se como uma celebração da liberdade.
Desde o êxito de 'O Superman' (1981), o percurso de Laurie Anderson tem sido marcado por uma discografia repleta de colaborações com artistas como Brian Eno e Lou Reed. Primeira artista residente da NASA e distinguida com o prémio de Carreira nos Grammys de 2024, Anderson permanece uma das mais vitais contadoras de histórias da atualidade.

Nearly 20 years later, Laurie Anderson returns to Theatro Circo with 'Republic of Love', a performance that originated from an invitation to the Vienna Festival, focused on the rise of fascism in Europe. Challenged to explore the relationship between government and love, Laurie Anderson created a work that blends narrative and music. Accompanied by the New York jazz ensemble Sexmob, the artist revisits pieces such as 'Big Science' and 'Language Is A Virus', which take on new contexts in 2026. Incorporating thoughts from figures like Allen Ginsberg and Bob Dylan, the piece stands as a celebration of freedom.
Since the success of 'O Superman' (1981), Laurie Anderson’s career has been marked by a discography rich in collaborations with artists such as Brian Eno and Lou Reed. The first artist-in-residence at NASA and awarded a Lifetime Achievement Grammy in 2024, Anderson remains one of the most vital storytellers of our time.
